In collaboration with TCN Behavioral Health of Logan County, the Dr. Sloan Library will be hosting
Reading for P.E.A.C.E. After-School Reading Program for Grades K-4
(Prevention, Education, and Advocacy for Community Empowerment)
Each week, the program will involve reading a carefully selected children's book, with accompanying activity, that will address important topics such as emotional intelligence, boundaries, and healthy relationships. TCN Behavioral Health believes that age-appropriate early education on these important topics is crucial for young children and their families and for fostering a safe and supportive community.

This program has multiple dates and you may RSVP for ONE or ALL of them.
Sept. 10 | Friendship is like a Seesaw
Understanding relationships and how to identify and share feelings with trusted adults.
Sept. 17 | Say Something
Autonomy and understanding how to express ourselves using art, song, or writing.
Sept. 24 | Speak Up
Expression, autonomy, solution-oriented thinking, and brainstorming ways to speak up.
Oct. 1 | Happy-Sad Today
Developing emotional intelligence and appropriately expressing our emotions.
