About the program

In collaboration with TCN Behavioral Health of Logan County, the Dr. Sloan Library will be hosting

Reading for P.E.A.C.E. After-School Reading Program for Grades K-4

(Prevention, Education, and Advocacy for Community Empowerment)

This program will involve reading a carefully selected range of children's books that address important topics such as emotional intelligence, boundaries, and healthy relationships. Each week there will be an accompanying activity related to the book topic. TCN Behavioral Health believes that age-appropriate early education on these important topics is crucial for young children and their families and for fostering a safe and supportive community.

Please join us for this FREE program on Tuesdays Sept 10, 17, 24 & Oct 1 @ 4:00 - 4:30pm

This program has multiple dates and you may RSVP for ONE or ALL of them.

Sept. 10 | Friendship is like a Seesaw

Understanding relationships and how to identify and share feelings with trusted adults.

Sept. 17 | Say Something

Autonomy and understanding how to express ourselves using art, song, or writing.

Sept. 24 | Speak Up

Expression, autonomy, solution-oriented thinking, and brainstorming ways to speak up.

Oct. 1 | Happy-Sad Today

Developing emotional intelligence and appropriately expressing our emotions.
